Hestehaven - The Horse Garden is a unique place. It is 127 acres of rolling hills to steep forest land. It is connected to public land which makes trail riding and driving a true pleasure. Wildlife is abundant on the farm and neighboring properties. Wild turkeys, pheasants, quail, owls, deer, and raccoons are seen almost daily. Elk visit the farm seasonally.
Arena Grand Opening 1999 Hestehaven offers a quiet get-away vacations for the equestrian & nature lover in you. The facility is a full service breeding barn with special interest in the Norwegian breeds of Horses. We have Norwegian Fjord Horses and Norwegian Dole Horses. There are 20 covered stalls and over 15 outdoor paddocks to house your equestrian friends when you vacation with us. A 100 x 200 covered arena is available for use along with 1000s of different trails connected to the facility. ...SADDLE UP and take a ride from the farm through BLM land and then into National Forest.
If you do not have your own Equine friend, Hestehaven will match you up with one of their seasoned schooling Norwegian Fjord Horses. This breed is known for their gentle attitude and their friendliness to humans. You will enjoy a lesson in driving or riding as part of the service you will receive during your stay at the Horse Garden.
Hestehaven's main house has 2 bedrooms to select from. There is a downstairs bedroom that is reserved for our guest that need a little more attention and is completely user friendly for a wheelchair. This room is available upon advance reservations only. The two bedrooms upstairs each have a uniqueness of their own.
The Fjord Room, this room has one queen size bed and a double size bed in it. It houses many pieces of Norwegian Fjord artwork. Here you can see original paintings, drawings and prints of Norwegian Fjord Horses.
The Jungle Room has a queen size bed in it and houses a jungle look. Zebras, Elephants, Amazon artifacts and art work with a jungle theme.
Hestehaven pride is privacy. The upper rooms have a door that sections them off from the main part of the house. Many weekends are considered fully booked when special guest request privacy in advance from us. (Slight additional fee.) Rooms are rented out by the day, week, and the month.
For the Executive get-away. Hestehaven has meeting space. A conference table for up to 24 is located in one of the large living areas of the main house. Hestehaven is perfect for your small conferences. AV Equipment such as DVD player, VHS, computer and overhead projector are available at no additional costs. The large indoor arena is perfect for the larger venues and can be used for banquets and dances...
Hestehaven is located in Southern Oregon, just North of Grants Pass and South of Roseburg. It is 13 miles off the I-5 highway from the Canyonville exit. Canyonville host one of the and best Indian Casinos in the United States. Many guest enjoy a day or two at the Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville and then come out for peace and relaxation at our farm.
Each month is unique at Hestehaven. Each season brings changes to the scenery and the farm. Early Spring the farm is foaling out baby Norwegian Fjords. Summer is the time for BBQs and evening dinner drives and the mid summer celebration. Fall brings on the cooler weather with outdoor bon fires, and hay rides. Winter bring the rain but also the seasonal celebrations, such as Jul. Puppies can be found running around once a year with the addition of Maud, our Norwegian Buhund female.
